Alliance Battles: Tactical Map

No one paid any attention to my post so I'll post it up as a suggestion in Sardelac instead.
Original post as follows:
Anyone played Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory before?
I would like to be able to
1. press a hotkey,
2. and a tactical map pops up,
3. showing the whole battlefield,
4. where my team mates are, (shown as red or blue dots)
5. which includes team mates' line of sight,
6. which means will be able to see enemies as well, (red or blue dots)
7. provided there is a team mate in that area,
8. and finally, which strategic point is under our control. (red or blue squares)
For example:
Additional features:
Move the cursor over
- a dot, and the player's class will be shown
Additional notes in this new thread in Sardelac:
I believe this feature would make the so called "unorganized" 12 vs 12 Alliance Battles become somewhat more "organized", even without an "organized team" to begin with.
Discuss.

well the only problem i see with that is, well, its not implemennted in gvg or any other game type for that matter, so why would it need to be added here? Sure the map is bigger and you have points that need to be taken, maybe they could add small arrows on the compass pointing out where the capture points are and they could be either red or blue depending on who owns them, but it just seems like an unnecessary step that would provide tactical data that anet obviously dosnt feel the need to provide in pvp. Makes teamwork all the more useful.
I mean its sorta like radar on different shooters, some have good radar where you can see ppl from halfway acros the map, some barely work at all, some dont even have radar, but generally the more competative shooters have little to no radar. It isnt necessary and in fact not having it makes the game a lot more tactical, which is obviously what anet wanted.

If u press the "U" key, a mini-map already pops up showing you what bases your team holds, and what bases the other team holds. So that red/blue square thing is already included. As for the dots you'll have to survive with the dots your radar gives you I guess.

OK, I just want to say I am all for this right from the start, but with a handful of changes.
When I tried out a few 12v12 battles, I was so completely lost most of the time. Eventually, by the end of the match I could kinda tell what points we were controlling and where the other points were, but alas, it was way too late. I can see this confusion on the map as is (or was, whatever) causing frustration in first-timers to the area, and even people who still have trouble with navigation.
I admit, I definately get lost easily. When a team is counting on you to get your job done, and you're not able to cause you have no idea where you are, yeah, it's frustrating. It's also difficult to try and re-associate yourself in the map when the action is so fast-paced.
However, I also agree with zoozoc in the sense that it becomes less tactful to have an entire radar/overlay of exactly what's going on, there needs to be some amount of relying on your senses/surroundings. I'd say have a map of the area just like any other PvE area (cept dungeons), and I like the idea of the colored checkpoints to let you know who has control of what. Aside from that, a simple "you are here" dot and that's it. No other player/npc dots or anything like that.
It would be nice to have a map like that at the beginning before the match that you could draw on like the mini-map. Plan your strategies and get everyone thinking along the same lines and coordinated, even if the teams are in shambles, lol.
Edit: You can press 'U' and already get that? I had no idea, I kept going to my main map 'M', and it was all fuzzed out. Well if it's already equipped, I'm game.
